HSATF 2nd Officer Posts: 423 05/13/08 8:57 PM Road Captain	A motel sounds good. With cabins you have to have at least two ... a snoring cabin and a cabin for those who don't snore. But wait! We are back in Wisconsin, and we just got a DSL line hooked up to our fifth wheel, so I finally have something other than dial-and-wait for Internet. I can also pull a trailer behind my camper, so that might be another option. I did some preliminary checking, and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of RV accomodations in and around Clarksburg. There is a state park near a town called Grafton, about 20 miles away. It has 14 sites with electric, and a 30' length limit. If either one of us tows an RV, it would probably be more cost effective to stay in a nearby campground/RV park, like you did last year. I'm not sure I understood correctly. You pull a trailer behind your camper that is pulled behind your truck? Sounds like you need a caboose at the end. We have a busy summer, but would still like to make this trip if possible. I don't want to have a season like a few years ago when the only vacation I had was a whole bunch of short weekend trips. None of them felt like a real vacation. Anyway, as the time gets closer we will keep an eye on the possible plans. I agree that if you tow an RV that far you may as well sleep in it and cook a few meals there since meals are the remaining major cost saver now that gas us way up. - Rich (& Sandy)

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 579 05/25/08 9:37 AM	Rich, You understood correctly. I put a hitch on the back of my fiffth wheel. I will be triple towing down to Texas, and later to Florida, next winter. My bike trailer is only four feet wide, so it can only carry one bike. Another option for traveling to WV would be to put a bike in the bed of the truck and another on a trailer. We have a quad cab, so there is a pretty fair amount of room in the back seat. I'm not sure if my bike will fit--even with the tailgate down. I have the short bed and a roll-top tonneau cover that takes up about a foot near the cab. On the other hand, diesel fuel should be over $6.00/gallon if the price increases keep going the way they have. We might have to take out a loan just to drive out of state. Stony
