Federal contractor, retired 20 year Coast Guard (ASM/Helicopter Rescue Swimmer) Member-CMA #632 Riders of The Light I'm upgrading from a 1999 VT-750 ACE Deluxe. I discovered that my wife enjoys being on the back, and the 750 didn't have the power I needed. I met a guy on a ride last month who had a teal and white Tourer and I fell in love with that bike, then found a 1998 black and white Tourer on craigslist, the rest is history. I pick it up next week and the 750 goes up for sale . I'm looking forward to getting the Tourer on the road soon. I belong to the ACE750 website, they have some good info over there as well. HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 3867 05/30/08 10:30 PM	Welcome, Rick. I'm from extreme north Alabama area and was trained as a Junior lifeguard in my teen years. I never intended it to be a career.....just thought it might come in handy someday, to know what to do. My training has paid off on 2 occasions when I saved the life of 2 young kids who accidentally fell into the deep end of the pool several years back, and had gone under. Funny how life works out for us, isn't it? I just recently moved up from an Honda VT800 to the Tourer and I am still loving everything about this great bike. Whatever you want to know about the T is here. You've only to ask and someone will answer. When you finally get that bike home post a picture of it here so that we can all share your enjoyment. HSATF Member Posts: 19 06/01/08 3:19 PM	Greetings Stan. I met my bride in LA, (Lower Alabama), her brother lives near Montgomery, her sister lives near Stapelton. I was a helicopter rescue swimmer in the CG for 20 years, retired in 98. We just moved down from Alaska last summer to E-City. I had been stationed here back in the 80's, a quiet little burb. I found the folks at the ACE 750 forum friendly as well, looks like great group of folks here as well. I haven't picked up the bike yet, but I'm already picking up some interesting tidbits. Our CMA group is a re-birth of a previous group, so we're short on members, but the Lord's working in the group. I ride with different groups when I get the chance. I'm giving my 15 year old a MSF course for his 16th birthday, kind of developing my own riding partners. I will post some pics when I get the bike next week. I have a group ride planned to Greenville the 8th of June, I really want to do it on the Tourer. The 750 is OK now that I have a windshield, but... Thanks again. Rick
