i also put this on kansas city craigslist and at the end of the ad, i stated i only carried liability insurance and therefore anybody wanting to take a ride
on it would have to leave me a $5,500 cash deposit. many are doing this on the cl, or they're just not allowing rides at all.
today i had a sort of nasty email from a lady who said they were very interested in the bike, but they thought i was a moran for asking what i was regarding
the deposit. i first answered her email explaining in detail my reasons for this. she just didn't let up and then got her husband involved and i started
getting emails from him. that's when i got nasty too. just not going to put up with their crap. she also made it plain that they had a new 2008 ultra glide
that was worth 4 times what my aero was and that they could have left the keys with me while they tried my bike out. i asked her what good keys would do me
without a title? at that point i was just being a little sarcastic.
my question to you guys is: would you let a complete stranger ride your bike not knowing how much experience they have...or lack of. last week i had a fellow
come by to look at it and he admitted to me he hadn't ridden for a while, but then wanted to come back the next day and take his wife for a ride! i
said...don't think so. thing is, i have a huge parking lot across the street and have told them i will show them how the bike is o.k....accelerate, brake,
or whatever they want, just not turning them loose with something they could destroy and then just walk away saying "sorry about that"
so, what would you guys do?
