He's feeling alot better and would probably even do better if he could get that hole stopped up where he could get home and get in that La-Z-Boy!!!!! I'm thinking of getting a bottle of Barr's stop leak and taking it to him. That should do the trick! I'm doing good except for my throat is so sore!. They went in thru the front and I think he just reached in and jerked everything to the side so he could get to my neck! The incision, nor my neck has hurt at all! Just my throat. It is very difficult to swallow! Beautiful day to ride, and they say I can't until a week from Tuesday. I don't think that is going to work!! Bought a hitch for the Wing and I finally slipped out of the house this morning and got it installed! Caught hell when she found me laying under the bike! My wife and I were out in you neck (sorry) of the woods today on the bik and had a good time except for the fact that the pillion pad is to small, the sisy bar doesn't fit right and my wifes legs are to long. I guess we could chop a few inches from her legs, that sould do the trick. Aside from that I guess you will jst have to read my ride post...hah. I'll see if I can get by to see Mark on Monday, that is if my wife doesn't have a long list of things for me to do around the house. Send me a PM with his hospitalnumber and I will give him a ring and try to set someting up. If I can make it should I take my lap top so that he can say "hay" to everyone on the forum? Joel

HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 246 07/02/08 3:48 AM	Went to see Mark yesterday and he looks like he is doing good. The only visible signs are the road rash on his left arm and the fact he has shortness of breath, the later from the punctured diaphram in his lung. He and Chris are hoping that the doc will let him out today, that is if the fluid in his lungs has cleared up. That's why he didn't leave yesterday. He is still going to need more recovery time and continued prayer would be good to. But he is doing better than the odds predict from an accident of this severity, God was definately with him. Oh, and Rick, they told me about how you would sit on the wing in the garage with the fan on in your face so you could feel the wind in your hair...LOL Joel Last Edited By: guitstik 07/02/08 3:52 AM. Chris says that you and Mark bear and increadible resemblance to each other. Mark, on the other hand, scoofed at the idea of looking like you. But Chris said he shaved his beard once and she made him grow it back 'cause it freaked her out...Not sure if that's a good thing or bad...HUM. Joel

Posts: 1608 07/05/08 9:13 PM	Mark is doing really well! He came home Wednesday, and that is always a good thing! His youngest daughter is playing in State softball tourny and he normally coaches them. They were playing as the undefeated team today in the semi-finals so I got him in the truck and took him to the game. The girls were all excited to see him and began doing some cheer about Mr Mark is here! LOL! The girls were losing 2-0 when we got there but they told us they were not going to lose the game with Mark there! They came back and won 11-6!!!! After the game they presented him with a ball trophy that was signed by all the girls! It had a plate on it that said..."from Marks girls"! Pretty neat deal for a bunch of 10 year old girls! They play the finals tomorrow so I guess I will take him back out to the park. I don't think you could beat him and make him stay home now! HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 3990 07/05/08 11:42 PM	So glad to hear that he is home now and well enough to make the game. Nice of you to take him there, too. My friend and co-worker (Tim) is recovering from similar injuries. A car pulled out in front of him at a busy intersection on his way to work last week. He T-boned it in the drivers door at about 50 mph which sent both driver and rider to the hospitals. He said that the bike's rear wheel has just started to come around on him from locking the brakes when he hit the cars door. It was a Chrysler Sebring (low profile) and he impacted the car with his right side. He broke his R leg in 3 places, broke 4 R ribs, punctured and deflated the lung behind them, and broke his right shoulder. He flipped over the roof and landed feet 1st about 10 feet on the other side of the car. Doctors say he will walk again and everything should heal up just fine. I guess that when it's not your time to go..........it's just not your time to go. Both these guys (Mark & Tim) are very lucky to be alive. He goes back to the Dr. tomorrow and he will find out how well he really is. It don't take long to get lazy this time of year and with it nearly 100 degrees it takes awhile to get back in shape.
