Magic trike w/fold-up third wheel |

I don't recall if anyone mentioned this "Magic Tricycle"? Interesting ... fully enclosed and the 3rd wheel folds up so you can ride as a
motorcycle if you want to. Not sure where / how you put your foot down when you stop?

Okay, I'll look the fool and be the first to comment....
Is it a significant engineering accomplishment? Yes Is it cool looking? Yes Other than the standard answers of 1) because I can, or 2) I've got one, do you? ....... I have to ask...Why? A covered two-wheeler, I suppose, is something that some people want. An economical three-wheeler (if it is), I suppose, is something that some people want. But this is something that I just don't get. To each his own though.

Why? well, this one looks like a design exercise or contest, but there are good reasons for a retractable 'landing gear' on a bike.
If the rider has trouble supporting the bike when stopped, but still wants to lean in the curves, it would be a good solution. Two wheels on the road have less resistance than three, so it's more efficient. There are probably some other reasons for a retracting 3rd wheel......

Duke, I've ridden motorcycles for 40 years now. For most of my military career, I couldn't afford two cars, so I had one car and one motorcycle. I rode
it almost year-round, regardless of weather. I'll put this as delicately as I can....covered motorcycles and fair-weather riders are PUSSIES! :lol

I suppose for us Northerners, if you brave the cold and ride to work only to get caught riding home on snow-packed roads, that 3rd wheel may be nice. I
didn't read up that much. But can the 3rd wheel be put down while you are inside riding?
When I saw this the first time, I couldn't tell which end was the front and wondered why it looked cockeyed.
Can you open the door and get in/out while on two wheels? (without upsetting) |
