Seventh Annual T Rally 2009 |

Terry and I are ready to start planning next year's rally. We have volunteered to make the preparations for a rally next July (instead of September - Since
Honda Homecoming is no more, we would fill that gap with the 7th annual T Rally) at Seneca Rocks.

BTW Fred, have you heard from Mike and Nancy? I know he likes to enjoy the scenery, but shouldn't they be home by now? Brian |

Brian,
The last I saw of Mike & Nancy was when Tony & I passed them going north on I-77 yesterday afternoon. I do not have their telephone number.

Tony, Fred,
Did not know Terry had Mike's phone number until a few minutes ago. Just spoke with Mike. He and Nancy are home safe and just haven't had a minute to get on the forum. So everyone is home unscathed with smiles plastered to our faces. Brian |

Brian.....glad to read that you're going to organize next years event. I believe that your wanting to go to July instead of September is going to help tremendously, for a whole lot of reasons. Personally for me July is our slowest month of the year due to vacations and what not. I can at least feel more comfortable with a July Rally than a September Rally as far as my getting vacation time off and not losing it to some hair brain planning on my CEO's part. I'll be anxiously following your planning reports. Thanks for jumping in and volunteering for this task.

Brian,
The Honda Homecoming was the last weekend in July. Is that the weekend you are thinking of having the 7th Annual T Rally?

Fred,
Nothing written in stone here. Just thought about changing the time to see if that makes a difference in attendance. The temps in July down in the mountains don't get as high as the lower elevations so Seneca Rocks makes sense for that time of year. As far as the exact date, I think a consensus of the probable attendees is in order. Since many of the forum members attended the Homecoming every year, this would be a great replacement for that event. If nobody wants to have it in July, then we can certainly move the time to whatever date is best for the majority. The last weekend in July works for us, but so does the second weekend in September or any other time. I need to make plans for a Navy reunion for next year and I don't want the two events battling for the same date. As soon as we have a firm date for the Rally, I will go to work on the plans for the Navy (not the entire Navy, just my ship's Communications Division ) get
together.

OK, I am not missing this one!!!! I am making plans NOW! Just need to know more details
. So that way I can go ahead and get my vacation planned before
the dates are already taken! Like Brian and Alepel said, I think the attendence will be alot better being in July. And what do you mean by a 6-pack???

Honda Homecoming 2008 was the weekend of July 24 - 26. The correseponding weekend next year would be July 23 - 25. So the Rally would run from July 23 - 26.
That will work for me. Not much coming in at this time so I don't know where most stand on the idea. There are other accomodations at Seneca Rocks for those who don't like the cabin idea. There is Yokums motel and the 4U Motel. There are a few others in the area. The cabins would be the most economical even if we had a 10 person cabin at $200 per night with only 4 people. I think they are around $150 per night. I will look into that once I see the amount of interest. Brian PS. Six Pack is a code that only those who attended the 6th annual rally know. It's top secret. If we tell you we have to kill you. |

Dave,
Welcome to the Forum! Seneca Rocks is in the mountains on the east side of West Virginia, about 40 miles east of Clarksburg at the juncture of US 33 and SR 55. Just getting there, from any direction, is a great ride. Hope to ride with you in July.

Dave.....welcome to the forum from my home in Rochester, New York.. You say you want to meet some other Tourer owners, well you're in luck because there
are a ton of them in Michigan. In fact the number of new forum members lately have been from Michigan. Check out the New Member thread and you'll see that
about three new members have just signed up recently adding to the 6 - 8 that I know of already. So you've the perfect opportunity to meet some other
Tourer owners from Michigan.

Roll Cal for 7th Annual Rally | #18 | ||

We are tentatively planning the Rally the weekend of July 23 - 26, 2009 at or around Seneca Rocks, West Virginia. There are both cabins and motels in the
area, so everyone should be able to have their preferred accommodations.
As soon as I have a preliminary idea who is going and where they prefer to sleep, I will make some calls. I'm a little late getting started on this so let's hear from you soon!! Brian |

Brian,
Did you say the cabins had a TV and connection to the Internet? If not, I prefer a motel so we can watch the weather and know which direction to ride to avoid the rain.

Fred,
I'll have to check on Internet availability. It's a pretty remote area. The only motels there are small family run affairs. B |
