So it warmed up enough in NY today for me to take a 200 mile cruise to nowhere. Anyway, I use the trip to try out some new accessories -highway bar with pegs,
throttle rocker, to name two. Riding with my feet up in the air was outstanding!! Being able to change positions sure makes a difference. What I found that
even with the fullest of tanks, I had to switch to reserve at 110 miles and gased up at 125 miles (didn't dare to go any further and I was out in the
middle of nowhere - no telling where the next gas stop would be). It figured to about 33 mpg. I was doing better than 40 mpg last year, however it turns out
the T was running lean (some backfiring on deceleration). Since the fall, I had the carb jets checked/adjusted ( I have a Vance and Hines exhaust - it appears
the previous owner never retuned the carbs so I did), new plugs. Any thoughts on my gas milage or ways to possible improve it. I know the T isn't know for
its touring range, but is 110 -120 normal?
