The problem is, I have medical problems with my feet and I need a very wide width boot (4E-5E). Try finding a width that wide in a size 8. My Cruiserworks are a wide width (2E) and I took them to a cobbler and had him stretch the width as far as he could, but it still isn't wide enough. I really have enjoyed my Cruiserworks, but they done make a boot wider than a 2E.
I went to a western store (I grew up in Texas with western boots). I found a very nice pair of waterproof Tony Lamas in a 4E, but they only come with a welt leather sole which is just too slick on wet pavement. I have found several boots that have the width and the sole, but not waterproof. They only boot I've found that has the heighth (10 inches), width (4-5E), waterproofing, and non-skid sole is a lace-up boot. It's become rather frustrating. But I'll keep trying.
