Fred, okay, you're what, 7'10" tall? And you said, "I rode a KTM for the first time in February. That was their 950cc Enduro which is the
first bike I have ever ridden where I could not get my feet flat on the ground."
Can you imagine me trying to ride that?

As far as the registration question goes. You can preregister up to the middle of May. The 15th is the cut off i believe. Then you can register at the holiday
during the week. You have to wait in line like everybody else then you can register wand get a wrist band that lets you into the covention center, the Million
Dollar Beach and Roaring Brook Ranch where most of the demo rides leave from. The big disadvantage is that you probably won't be able to sign up for the
boat events or dinners unless some aren't full. But you will be able to sign up for some of the day trip tours.( Again if they aren't to capacity).
The TourExpo tents don't open until tuesday BUT there are plenty of vendors in Glens falls and Warrensburg to the south and the northwest to take care of some of your needs. Many times these are the same vendors that have tents down in the main area. They've learned that these sattiele operations can get a jump on the week and also pull in the old timers who like to avoid the madness of down town Lake George toward the end of the week. If you get in early , say saturday or sunday head there to start your shopping. As far as Honda not being there that would be a big surprise We'll all just have to wait and see. |

I am thinking of riding the route shown below on Monday, June 1st. This route starts and ends at the Albany AirportRed Roof Inn. Note Point A is obscured by
ending Point F. The route follows the Mohawk Trail (SR 2 in Mass.) as well as along the Connecticut River in New Hampshire and some scenic and curvy roads in
Vermont (state roads 9, 100 & 30). My brother and his two friends are interested in joining me. Anybody else?

Fred....that's quite a nice trip you have lay out. I am familiar with portions of it. I have family in North Adams so I am very familiar with that area.
Unfortunately my plans call for Monday to be my first day of travel and I will be arriving in Bolton Landing around 4:00 PM. I had hoped to arrive earlier in
the day to register, but that may not happen. I am pre-registered which would make my signing in on Monday a more practical thing to do instead of waiting
until Tuesday to sign in. I'm going to take my time traveling and so I don't expect to make it to Lake George before 4:00 PM. Tuesday I'll be down
at the Million Dollar Beach at the expo trying to spend my money. Tuesday of course I'll see you at dinner at the Raintree provided I don't see you
before then.

I'd love to Fred, but I also will be traveling to Americade that day. Hope to see you Tuesday either at the demos or M$Beach. I will be at the dinner
though.
Alain, I'm am sending you a personal message with my cell phone number. If any forum members attending Americade want it, you have my permission to give it to them. (You are to especially give it to Jessica Biel or Marisa Miller if, by chance, either of them ask you for it.) I would like to have the cell phone numbers of all forum members attending so that we can hook up while we're there.

The Mohawk Trail sits high above the town with a commanding view then descends quickly with a hairpin thrown-in for good measure. Looking forward to seeing you again on Tuesday night. May bump into at one of the Expos.

Perhaps he will chime in here and say that it is okay to give out to forum members attending Americade or Tuesday night at dinner we can all exchange telephone numbers then. I'll send you a PM with my cell phone number, but please don't do with it what you did two years ago. I had a devil of a time trying to shake off that toothless, sweaty biker-gal, you gave my number to, who kept screaming that she wanted to have my baby. Hmmm if I got your number I wonder if I could find her again?

I sure hope you bring your camera with you, Alain. We're gonna have some Kodak moments!

alepel wrote:Alain, You must be right. At the time that I drove on the Mohawk Trail through North Adams, some time between 1994 & 1998, I had not been riding motorcycles for at least 16 years and I was not thinking about riding one that day either when I saw that gorgeous switchback turn. I am glad it stuck in my memory because I am very much looking forward to touching my ear to the pavement as I lean through that turn on June 1st.

Fredrider wrote: Fred is correct. Kodak cut me loose after 35 years, by selling my division off to a financial firm in Toronto. But I landed on my feet and I've got the same job, same benefits, same pay and my Kodak pension in my pocket. While I still have a few very nice Kodak cameras in the closet, my camera of choice is now a Sony Cybershot WS150 and all I can say is Wow!

Fred,
I'm thinking that Sean and I will join you and Andy on Monday. We will probably split off some ware on US7 to head directly back to Lake George to get pre-registered before they close at 7PM. Anyone else, Here is my plan: Saturday May 30-- Lee Parks' Total Control Advanced Riding Clinic with Fred outside of Washington DC Sunday-- travel to lake George with Fred and Andy Monday-- Ride with Fred and Andy in MA, NH, VT and NY, get wrist band in evening Tuesday -- early AM sign up for demo rides, afternoon vendor's, evening dinner with HSATF at rain tree Wednesday -- Gary, Alain, others I propose we take NYMArk's route to lake placid this day Thursday -- ride somewhere, all day 200mi ish loop evening: go to functional lighting contest Friday -- ride some ware, trollsabre has mentioned having some ideas, I'd love to tag along evening: fireworks Saturday -- ride to Rochester with Alain and Phil. Sunday -- ride home As is typical for me I've got 3 days unaccounted for and I have 8 routes laid out. These are only ideas to get me started if I'm sitting around and need a ride, but anyone is welcome to come with or borrow. Most are around 200 miles but as short as 100 and one at 260 Some ride options:

Damn you Tony....I hate guys who have "plans" when they are suppose to be on vacation.
I am leaving Rochester Monday morning and travelling to Lake George. Should be about 6 hours for me to travel 250 miles. Sign-in for Pre-registered is from 11 AM to 7 PM on Monday, so I hope to make it there in time to do this. Tuesday is pretty much vendor day for me and then dinner Tuesday evening. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are all riding depending on the weather. I don't know if I'm going to go back into Lake George in the evenings because of the number of bikes in town for evening events and the long drive at night back to my motel in Bolton Landing. I may just hang in the motel parking lot and talk with old friends whom I've meet over the years. BUT....I might be persuaded otherwise. Saturday of course I head back home. So that accounts for about 5 full days of riding. A lot of stops and a ton of picture taking. One week to go!!! Tony I got your number.
