I also bought a set on the 3rd, and am still waiting delivery.
If you can post as to how they fit/look, it would be nice to know. Take care, Gordon

I received the boards on the 23rd, and it took a whole 5 minutes to install them on the bike. I liked the weight and feel of these boards.
Now it's just a matter of time to see how they wear. I would buy them again. The service from the seller was good. |

Any chance of getting a picture or two of the floorboards? The pictures on eBay are horrible. Maybe one folded down and one with the boards folded up?

Wow...these got my vote. They look good!
Tell me something. When they are folded into the upright position is there some kind of detent that holds them in the upright? In other words I'm wondering if when folded upright will then stay there or could they flop down with a good bump? PS you handle this photo assignment beautifully. How about one more photo standing back so that we see the whole bike in the photo. Thanks in advance.

I could not "see" an actual detent, but they do not flop down, nor have they while riding alone, not that I have them up very often.
I'm still having good weather here in Richmond BC, so I just keep them down as my wife and I are out each evening after she gets home form work. Ride a little, and stop somewhere for a little bite or a coffee. I've posted pictures of my bike in the T photo group already, or look in my profile in the oimage photos. |

Alepel,
These sure look like the cobras, the detent is the two small dimples in the last photo. There are two spring loaded nylon balls in the body of the board that will snap into the two dimples to hold it in the upright folded position. I think Stan made a post a long while back about replaceing the worn nylon balls. The button head hardware looks nicer than the standard hex bolt that came with the Cobras. These look good, the price is right, and they still make them . Good find!

OK, so the detents are built into the pivot pin, thats why I can't/didn't see them. I was looking for something more along the lines of an external
ball or some spring steel, to act as the detent. Internal sounds better for the elements.
It's still nice and my wife is pleased with them. Makes for a more comfortable ride for her as a passenger. |

Wow, those do look just like the Cobras. The rubber pad is different and the adapter is black. Other than that, it looks the same! (except I paid over $200 for
the Cobras
)
Is that adapter machined out of one piece of steel? Looks like it is, but can't tell for sure in the pics. Nice!

From what I remember when I looked it over, was that it was one piece. I was trying to see how it was put together, and it seemed so simple, the mounting
block, the floorboard and the pin going through them.
The ebay listings usually start at $99, and he has at least one in with a 5 day auction, so you don't need to buy the first one you see. I would buy it again. |

As a follow up.
A solution would be to make the mounting pin longer and then you would need to file/grind it back to fit within the bikes peg. |

What's that Gordon, you are gonna epoxy your wife's foot to the floorboard so it does not slip off?

As a follow up on the rear floor boards.
Yesterday I noticed a big shinny plate on the back of my bike. It turned out to be the "new" floor board with the rubber removed. Seems I lost one on the drive into work. Must have peeled back in the wind stream. So I reached over and with my figure nail picked the other one out of the plate so I would loose that one and would also have a template to cut out some rubber to replace them both so they match. I have not contacted the seller yet, but I will and see what he can do about getting a replacement, since something like this shouldn't have happened, in only 3000 miles. Will keep you all informed.
