This will be my first rally to attend since I got my T back in '04 and then got transferred to the Hawaiian Islands via Uncle Sam. I am now back in Maryland and unless there is any kind of unforeseen circumstance/event that comes up, I will be there! Although, I might not make it in until Friday instead of Thursday. Also, my vote would be for the hotels in Elkins as well. Just let me know which one everyone will be at and I'll make my reservations! Until then... TJ

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 1007 05/06/09 8:53 AM	John and I are making plans to attend, even if we have to drive the Mountaineer! (My shoulder is improving greatly, so I'm crossing my fingers we can ride.) It was such a bummer to have to bail last year because we were really looking forward to meeting folks. Here's an additional thought for you folks... At our Shadow rally, folks brought some biker-ish items (new or gently used), and we put 'em in a pile for a drawing. I airbrushed a t-shirt, cut a few decals, another brought their old RLAP dvds, motorcycling books, gloves that didn't fit, a ride bell, a patch, etc... We put a number on each item, and folks drew numbers for the prizes. It's not WHAT was given, it was the spirit in which it was given. We had lots of trading going on after the drawing, too, so it got pretty humorous. If folks want to do this, I'd be happy to handle it at the rally, perhaps after Friday dinner or ? HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 642 05/15/09 8:00 PM	I've been reluctant to post as I've tried for several years to make the T rally and haven't been successful yet. I don't know if the Mrs can make it with me, but I'm going to try hard to balance out work with some vacation time to make it. I have a year of V-time built through the years, but timing is the key. Sometimes I can take a month off but sometimes I can't get a day off in a month.. crossing fingers and toes.. Mark

HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 103 05/20/09 3:39 PM	FRed, You didn't pick the wrong weekend, these things just happen! I didn't mean to imply anything, just say I wanted to go, maybe next year. Since I put on my own event, I know every year we will have several people that would love to do my event, but have a conflict, and sometimes I get them, and sometimes the other event gets them. In my case though, I can't pick another event, if I don't go, it won't happen! I hope your event is a huge success, and maybe next year we will pick weeks that won't conflict.

HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 209 05/25/09 9:45 PM	I am planning to be there. This will be my first rally of any kind! I will make reservations this week at the Super 8 if they still have rooms available. If any riders from NC or anywhere else who may be traveling along the same route(North) would like to get together for the ride up to WV just let me know. I plan to ride up on Thursday 7/23 and come back on Sunday 7/26. I do not have a definite route, but would like to take the most scenic not necessarily the quickest. Posts: 9758 05/28/09 2:40 PM	With a little bit of anxiety (I'm being honest about this) I just made my reservations at the Super 8 Motel in Elkins so that I can ride Old #12 and attend the 7th Annual T Rally. It's going to be a 450 mile 2-day trip for me from my home in New York. But I've extensively researched the route I want to take and I am excited about it. My principal route is going to be route 219 from New York right into downtown Elkins. How slick is that!?! One route all the way from NY. And it is mostly country roads with a few divide highway portions here and there. Since I'm looking at a two day ride down and then a two day ride to return, I'm a little uncertain how much actual riding I'll do in Elkins, but I do want to be there and enjoy everyone's company this year. I attended the 4th Annual event in Caldwell driving a cage, but I enjoyed meeting many new faces. By the way Tony....I asked the folks at the Super 8 about the address at 639 S Randolph and they say there is no such address for the Super 8 there. It is at 350 Beverly Pike.
