HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 963 04/13/09 9:00 PM	Tags : None I've a couple of Cobra add-ons for my T and the chrome plating on both of them are flaking and peeling. The passenger floorboards were the first to show signs of trouble and then the bracket for the saddlebag rails that attaches at the factory bag crash guard started shedding its chrome too. All my Honda chrome is fine as is the engine guard (which I'm unsure if it's Cobra or other). I didn't get my accessories through a regular retailer, so I'm not sure I can get any warranty help from Cobra. Besides, as we all know, the saddlebag rails and the passenger boards are discontinued (even though I can use replacement boards from any application so long as I keep the adapters). Anyone else have trouble with Cobra chrome? duke loud horns save lives

HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 5040 04/13/09 10:29 PM	I did on the billet light bar mounts. I contacted Cobra and they replaced the entire light bar with a new one. I didn't even buy them new....they were on the other 2000 T that I had bought from another forum member. The chromed steel parts never gave me a problem. Here's the link if you want to contact them about your problem; http://www.cobrausa.com/ I've had the same problem with Kuryakyn's billet parts, but not with any of the chromed steel parts. It seems the billet parts can't hold the chrome the same as the steel. I'd have to say that they are holding up pretty good, in spite of the fact that I've drug them so much! HSATF 1st Officer Posts: 928 04/14/09 8:49 AM	My Cobra rear floorboards are starting to pit as well, however the engine guard, front floorboards, master cylinder cover and speedo mount are all fine. I think a number of others have complained about the rears pitting/pealing. Tony

Since I can't get replacement parts for the bag rails, I will most likely take the brackets off the bike and put them to the buffing wheel. Hopefully they are a decent basemetal and not a cheap zinc alloy. Not sure 'bout the passenger boards. I may try to get replacements for those. duke loud horns save lives

Posts: 840 05/24/09 8:50 PM	One of my Cobra passenger floorboards began flaking chrome about a year after purchase. Called Cobra. They said mail the board to them, minus the mounting bracket, for a replacement. Sent me back a brand new board, they covered the return postage. I believe it took less than two weeks turn around. Nice people, they stand by their product. Rich

HSATF Tail Gunner Posts: 275 07/27/09 12:45 PM Tail Gunner	Cobra chrome sucks, period. But they have a great warranty. They told me to return my pitted boards and they would return a new set to me. They did tell me it would be a 6 week turnaround time however. I think I will get that done now that I have a bunch of other bikes to reply on. Eddie
