Not so much the distance, as it is the time and money involved for a trip like that. The rally in WV is half that distance and I don't even have the
vacation time or money for that. It's only 660 mi. and 11.5 hours to the rally. Maybe next year things will be better.

I'm going to start back towards Cleveland Wednesday morning... going to take the long way home, through the Andorondicks. On my way home from my first
Americade (2004 or 2005) I took 9N from Lake George to Westpoint, then cut west towards Lake Placid. I'm planning to ride the same route this year, so may
join you Wed AM... when you peel off on RT 30 south near Tupper Lake, I'll stay on RT3 west. I plan to follow RT3 along the eastern edge of Lake Ontario,
into Oswego NY, then follow the Oswego river to Camillus NY.
We can talk about it and I show you some maps. Andy |

I took a meteorology course in college, just as an elective, and the instructor was Dr. Mel Goldstein, meteorologist for channel 8, New Haven, head of the
Meteorological Department at Western Connecticut State University, and senior metoerologist for the northest regional whatever. Anyway, I learned two things
from him that I took with me out of that course:
1: He introduced me to the term 'Coriolis Effect'; and 2. No one can predict the weather four days in advance. Whatever the weather, I'm looking forward to it.

Dixie is covered with dust and bugs and its raining today and tomorrow. My camera isn't working for some reason. My daughter borrowed the duffel bag I was
going to use and can't find it now. I've gained so much weight from my latest ordeal with Prednisone and Coumadin that I only have minimal clothes to
fit me. But, come Hell or high water, I'm gonna be there.

I just finished packing the bike. I hit the road at 0630 tomorrow. Supposed to rain off and on all the way to Washington DC, but Saturday is looking good for
the lee park's class.

I hope you have a good, safe ride Tony. Remember that D.C.er's don't belong to any state, so they think they don't have to obey laws (When our
politicians begin to think like that, that's when we get in real trouble. :no) and it can get dicey on their roads. Be careful.
