So the wife goes by there this past week, and the place is fairly deserted. She finds a nice mesh jacket that she likes. Similar to one that I have, that isn't an H-D brand. BUT... the one she finds is actually cheaper than the one I bought... no.. really..
So she wants to go by on Saturday and get me to look at it. It was nice and all girly and suitable for a chick. They also had another style that was even cheaper. I walked back outside to make sure I was in the Harley Davidson shop....
She shops for a bit and I start looking at the new bikes. It was not real crowded, maybe a sign of the times. I look around for a salesman to answer a few questions. Then I realize that I am the only one in the entire store that doesn't have on something with some form of H-D logo or wording on it.... Everyone had on something that advertised Harley... I even started to talk to one guy that was better dressed than the actual salesmen, with his button down H-D shirt...
I expect the employees to dress up like that, but it was hard to pick out the people that worked there.
One guy was over the top. He had on everything Harley, jeans, boots, shirt, vest, bandanna, watch, glasses... and probably underwear... I would figure he might have been on a Sportster, except given his size and his wife's size that might have been pushing the limits of that bike...
Just so no one here thinks things have changed, the service in the store was typically poor.... But perhaps it was because I was not dressed seriously enough to be considered a valued customer....

The local Honda
dealership in Huntsville, Al has just about as much floor space dedicated to Honda gear, as they do for the bikes. Same for the one in Cool Springs, TN. Honda
will let about any mom & pop shop sell their bikes, but with HD...you have to buy the franchise. They tell you where to build it, how to build it, and what
to put in it. not a bad system, actually.
