A wonderful set of stock pipes for sale. I bought my tourer with 5k and the pipes were the first thing I took off. I coated them in oil and put them in the
garage. I sold the bike last year and forgot about the pipes untill I was looking for some hotrod parts. They are completely stock and look great.I don't
know how to add pic so email and i will send some pics. gfr3227@yahoo.com

you should put this on the ALL AERO site. many of those guys are looking for the T duals. i had them on my aero when i had it. it's a good look for those
bikes and they fit right on them with no mods.

How did you mount the T pipes on the aero in the rear? Did the stock Aeros muffler supports fit the T? What about on the left side? Or did the saddlebag
supports also mount right up?

had pics at one time, but can't find them now. it wasn't difficult though. i made brackets from 1/8" aluminum strap (1"). i did have to twist
it to make the connection. i used the round hole on the T exhaust bracket and then mounted to the m/c frame. don't remember where. i did the whole change
over including fabricating the brackets in a few hours.
only problem is, you almost have to run saddlebags of some sort to hide the black part of the T exhaust. wish i could find the pics, but they really looked nice on the aero. you might go to the all aero site and get more info, as lots of guys are doing the conversion there. good luck, bud |

Did you also run the bags off the T? Where they a pain to install? I'm considering taking the pipes off my T, along with the bags and support brackets and
putting them on my Sabre which is practically brand new. Then I'll sell the T for chump change.

i was running the large leatherlykes on the aero. you've got to have some kind of bag to hide the "black" part of the T muffler. guess i have
deleted those pics, can't find them anywhere.

How do stock pipes sound? | #7 | ||
|
I own a '98 T & the guy I bought it from tore out the baffles. I didn't like the sound so I took his out & made my own. If interested, I'll
share how I made them. It was quite brilliant but I'm too modest so let's just leave it at brilliant. Anyway, I would be interested in knowing how any
other T owners would rate the stock T sound. Even with it's double pin crank, my T sounds more like a harley than a Honda, but ( maybe it's my age ) I
think I'd like it a bit less aggressive sounding. Please don't reprimand me with "loud pipes saves lives ", I know, they also destroy
what's left of an old mans hearing. Thanx, Chief Hondaddy.

Welcome to the board.
Please do share your knowledge on the fix as there are some that might like it. As for the "loud pipe save lives" theory....... If thats the case then why do people get hit by trains ?? .......
I don't mind coming to work, but that eight hour wait to go home is a
bitch.

Chief hondaddy....welcome to our forum. It sounds like you might have some information about how to make baffles that would benefit a lot of our members.
Speaking of added information....how about telling something about yourself. It's always nice to have new members, but knowing something about them makes us feel more like family than a group of motorcyclists with a passion for the same motorcycle. So please tell us more about yourself and your family and some of your past experiences with motorcycles. If you just want to stick to name, rank and serial number that's okay too. Welcome to the forum and I'm looking forward to 'talking' with you more in the future.

The former owner welded a 24" long 3/4" pipe to a flat round pc. of steel & then spot welded the flange to the back edge or the muffler ( I
should mention, he also ripped out the original baffles ), He reinstalled the tip & he made the bike sound more like a snare drum on a roll. My fix- I
ground out the spot welds & pilled out his "baffles". I then used a few differnt lengths of 1 1/4" pvc to test the sound. (this is a rather
quick test due to the fact that if the pipes get too hot the test is over, the pvc melts) After I determined that I did alter the sound significantly, I welded
a 19" long pc. of scrap auto exhaust pipe to (hardware store bought) galvanized flange w/ a 1 1/4" opening. I welded 4 bolts to plug up the 4 holes
in the flange. Now here's the brilliant part, I took a length of 3/4" galvanized construction strap & bent it every1" to 1 1/4 " like an
accordion but just enough to fit snuggly inside the tail pipe. The outside dia. of the flange just happened to fit snuggly inside the exhaust tip so I simply
secured the tip back on & instant (almost) Harley. No welding so if I want to remove or change diameters, I just take off the tips. Now, about
me..................
