Dan I'm glad glad you came through this as well as you did.Sounds like your in good spirits despite it all. Will this knock you out of work? Did it kill the deer.(not that I'm worried about that). Can you remember any details about the accident that makes you think " If I had only done this or that I might have gotten through that better".In other words something you might be able to pass along to the rest of us.Anyway, I have a great bunch of biker trash I go church with who will be praying for you.

Thanks for all of the prayers and well wishes.  They are appreciated.
If there is a lesson here at all, I was glad I had leathers on.  I don't wear them when it's hot, but if I get another bike, will be something I seriously look at.  I got road rash even with all of the gear, can't imagine what I would have looked like without it.

There was nothing I could do, to change the outcome of this.  The deer came from the left, where the shoulder dropped into a ditch.  Beyond that , a field, that was not illuminated by my lights.  So I didn't see her until I was about to connect.

Just found out that both lower leg bones are broken, one is crushed.
It's going to take time.

My wife is a trooper!  She is not against me getting another bike.  She understands, you can't control the deer.  People die all of the time in car wrecks.  When your time is up, it's up.

Other members of my family, have already said that they hope I don't get another.  For now, it's not anything I have to decide today.

They did not find the deer, but there is little doubt it didn't survive long.  I made a solid hit at 60 mph.

I am in good spirits, I do realize it could have been worse.  It will put me out of work, but I have disability insurance.
THANKS!
