Critter....I understand. My dad was in the Navy for 21 years as a Chief Petty Officer. Much of the time we traveled with him from base to base. I had been everywhere from Key West, Fla to Argentia, Newfoundland and everything in between.

But then there were the times he was away and we would all be home waiting for his return. I remember the homecomings and how great they would be. So I was a "Navy Brat".

I can honestly say I enjoyed the life. Something about military life appealed to me. I enlisted in the Air Force and did my time in Viet Nam. Had it not been for Viet Nam I would have made it a career also. But my job classification at the time was a loadmaster on C130 transports and my buddies were rotating back to Viet Nam in 6 to 8 months after 12 month tours. That was not enough time for me and the thought of returning was too great. So I left the service. I never thought of reserves but several of my friends did and enjoyed the experience.
