Mods I have added to the bike include an accessory bar (wife says don't call it a "crash" bar on the front, You can't see it but it had a neat clock on the handlbar, and I added a temp gauge (air temp) to match it. I also found a bit of chrome to cover the horn. Installed LED lights inside the rear turn signals adding running and stop lights, Jan wanted more light, but I didn't want to clutter up the back with more stuff, so that worked out great.

In our first "life" with bikes, I had a Honda 750 Supersport and she had a 550K Honda. Best trip we took was to the 1982 Knoxville Worlds Fair. I had created soft bags for both bikes from JC Whitney stuff and put on racks with more soft bags. We camped to the Worlds Fair, and then went on to the T.W.O. Campground in Suches GA in the Blue Ridge mtns. of N. Georgia. Then back to Illinois. round trip about 2500 miles. We had a blast. At that point I did not have anyone to ride with, Internet was not around, I didn't know of any local groups. The wife and I rode together or alone and that was pretty much it. I spent most of my time trying to turn that 750 into a goldwing. Didn't work so well, but I still did a lot, including making my own hitch and towing around a homemade trailer when camping. Sold them both to the same guy. That 550K was a SWEET bike. A little underpowered for me, but a LOT better touring bike than the 750 SS.

A LOT more fun this time riding with a group of friends and finding out about all the stuff going on through several internet groups. I am part of STAR Touring, The Venturers, Venture Rider, and Patriot Guard Riders. Also have riden with some Wingers and may even approach some Harley folk if I can find a friendly group.
