Alain, I bought a fender tip for my T from JP, and you are so right. John was sturggling with (and snarlin' about) the fit from the moment we tried to put it in place. The curve of the piece was "off" so he had to shape it a bit, and we had to widen holes (side to side) with a drill to get the threaded posts to line up with the holes. Once we did that, we got it to fit, and I like it better than the old rail, but I was disappointed in the crappy engineering job they did on it. You shouldn't have to work that hard to get a "bolt on" to fit!

Dawn....thanks for responding with your experiences installing the chrome fender tip. I was aware that the fender tip sold by National had a single screw to mount the tip, but most T owners had only used the double sided tape and the tip stayed on fine. You mention widening the "holes" (side to side) and that confuses me just a bit. What do you mean when you refer to "holes" plural? Was John able to shape the tip or did he shape the fender? If this tip is cast I would question how much bending you can do before it would snap.
