I am all in favor of motorcycle training for both riders and non-riders. I am not saying that all non-riders should take the motorcycle riding test, but they should at least have to be made aware that they need to be looking for motorcycles, bicycles and pedestrians. Any driver that is in such a hurry that they only give a cursory look in the direction of on-coming traffic before they bolt out from a stop sign is asking for trouble. Of the many drivers I see doing that I would think that they could not be looking for anything smaller than a car if they are looking at all.

In the last two months two cagers have run stop signs right in front of me as if I was not there. The first one realized her mistake, waved and slowed in case I wanted to have words with her. The second one did not wave or slow down. I am not sure if he even knew I was there until I blew the horn. When I pulled up along side him, I could see he had some kind of expression acknowledging that I was there, but I could not read what that expression meant. I gave him a good, long, hard stare and then moved on. I can only hope that he got the messages that he should stop at stop signs and be looking for on-coming traffic no matter how small that traffic may be. And yes, Alan I was going over the speed limit in both cases, not double the speed limit and not faster than any other traffic would go on that same road, but yes guilty I was going over the speed limit.
