Beautiful pictures Sunshine! I would have to agree with you that US 421 must have been designed by motorcyclists. In June of 2000, while on my way to visit friends in Boone, NC before heading down to my first Honda Hoot, the last one that was held in Asheville, NC, I travelled on US 421. On both sides of Bristol, VA/TN, there are 11 miles stretches of US 421 preceded by signs that warn truckers of Dangerous Curves. Both 11 mile sections, the one in Virginia and the one in Tennessee, are definitely as good as the Dragon for number and severity of the curves they contain. The only problem with doing both of them in the same day is you have to make at least 19 turns and many more stoplights then that as US 421 snakes through Bristol, VA and then Bristol, TN. As Dave/NewTrider likes to say, the town council wants to make sure you see every part of the city. I am glad you had such a wonderful day of riding. I wish I would have been there to enjoy it as well. Did the country store happen to also sell a Striped Snake patch?
