The people I work with think I must be crazy. Since waking the 'T' this Spring, I have driven my cage only 2-3 times. Rain, cold, pretty much any kind of weather, they see my 'T' in the parking lot.

I've been caught in the rain more times than I even want to remember. I tell them "What's the problem, I can change clothes. Besides, it's the only time I get to take a shower."

The rain can be bother, but I don't usually mind it too much. Hail, on the other hand...

Fred and I got caught in a pretty severe rainstorm during the Michigan 'T' Rally a couple years ago. If we got more than 100-200 yards apart, we couldn't see each other. The rain was bouncing off the ground and leaving a "cloud" of water about 3-4 feet high. It was a little un-nerving to have a car get beside you, on the freeway, with no clue they were even there, till they were passing. That said, we got where we were headed with no problems other than being waterlogged. I was wet in places where I didn't even know I had places.

It's part of the motorcycle experience. If you're going to be a serious rider, you're going to get wet.

I was making a trip from San Jose, CA to near Portland, OR many years ago, on a Kawasaki LTD 1000. I had stopped for the night. The next morning it was pouring. I put on my wet weather gear and headed up the road. About 30 minutes after pulling out, the bike started caughing and gagging. The rain was running down the teardrop tank and under the seat, right into the air box. I had ridden the bike in the rain before without any problems, so it really surprised me when it starting stuttering. I stuffed paper towels under the lip of the seat and managed to divert most of the rain off to the sides and finally got the bike to run smooth. I was starting to get concerned, since it was a Sunday morning and I was at least 30 minutes from anything that actually resembled civilization, and here I sit along side the road with a sick bike. Once I got it running, I completed the ride without any further trouble. When I got home, I replaced the airbox with a "home-grown" box that drew air from the bottom instead of the top. I never had the problem again.

Any other rain stories out there??

Ride safe.
