All those planning to attend the 7th Annual T Rally, we can continue at Seneca Rocks as Brian had planned, or another option is we can set-up base camp in one of the four hotels 32 miles west of Seneca Rocks in Elkins, WV. In Seneca Rocks we have a choice of Smoke Hole Motel & Log Cabins or Yokum's Vacationland . In Elkins there is a Hampton Inn, a Holiday Inn Express, a Super8 and a Days Inn. The Holiday Inn Express has an indoor pool and a whirlpool. I know that is important to Tony.

Some of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed have been in cabins, but usually the disadvantage of a cabin is less flexibility and less services. The last cabin I stayed in was just such a place. It was on a gorgeous lake. I had the use of row boat or canoe. The sunsets there were spectacular. It also had no phone, no TV and no Internet connection. Consequently when I left I ended-up travelling 4-1/2 hours in heavy rain until I was too cold and soaked to go any further. I stopped early and stayed in an expensive hotel just to dry out and start feeling human again. If I would have had a TV or an Internet connection I would have know that I could have avoided that rain by travelling one hour west which would have permitted me to ride a full day instead of a partial day and stay at a reasonably priced hotel.

At last year's T Rally we decided as a group to move to a hotel 140 miles south of our original hotel. Besides one hour that allowed us to ride two days rain-free. Hotels are flexible enough that we can just check-out and go somewhere else if the weather there is not to our liking. That may not be possible with a cabin.

As beautiful and fun as a cabin can be, I vote to stay in a hotel in Elkins, but I will respect the decision of the group. Please let me know what you prefer. Thanks.
