Today's ride started the same as yesterday's with breakfast at Bob Evans. However, only Ken, Gary, Tony and I started out riding west on US 250 while the others either went to the Honda shop or slept in. Our little group first rode to and visited the historic town of Phillipi, WV where we stopped by the Covered Bridge and the old train station which is now turned into a Museum. Unlike most covered bridges which are for show only, Phillipi's covered bridge bears all of the traffic from US 250 business. There is another bridge for trucks.

Phillipi's covered bridge is ornate on the inside with all of its beams and arches separating the lanes as well as supporting the roof and walls. Too bad it was too dark in there to show up in a picture.

Phillipi's old train station has been revitalized and turned into a museum.

Today we were actively seeking out the curviest sections of road. Here is Ken/FirefighterKP in one of my favorite stretches (along US 50 west of Grafton, WV). It is the same shot as suggested by Mike/Buglar and taken by Jim/Zapper during the 2nd T Rally that I use for my Avatar.

Here's Tony/Car Guy in that same turn. I can see he is keeping his body's center of gravity inside the bike's center of gravity as we were taught during the Lee Parks Total Control Advanced Riding Course we took in May. Good form, huh?

Gary/Guns was not to be left out. Here's his chance in that photogenic spot.

I don't know what this is, but painted on the side is the message that it is powered by clean, natural gas. I don't like the looks of those suspicious characters lurking behind the device. Curiously Andy/Clerider, his friend Jim, Brian/Bribaby and Terry/LadyAce joined us at this location about 30 miles from our hotel.

We stopped to take another picture of one of the very large wind generators rising above the trees.

Another beautiful West Virginia scene.

We literally returned to the hotel a couple of minutes before the sky opened and a downpour ensued. I did not even have time to put the bike cover on. I am hoping for dry roads for tomorrow's 480 mile ride home.
