Well, folks, we made it home safely! Left Elkins at about 8:30 AM, and pulled into our driveway just after 4 PM. 272 miles. We started our ride with our rainsuits on, figuring we were gonna get wet...nope...at least not until after we stopped in Hot Springs for lunch and I took my rainsuit off!! It was just a little rain, so we kept riding. We only encountered a few sprinkles after that. My shoulder was getting pretty darn tired by the time we hit Roanoke, so we made a couple extra stops so I could stretch my muscles a bit.

One of the cool things about our ride was that I led the way for most of the trip, both there and back, even through the twisties! (*pats self on back*) Ummm...I did get a little heavy on the throttle, and blew by some LEOs at a pretty good clip, and I kept checking my mirrors to see if they were going to chase me down...but I got lucky. I'm very glad that we took an alternate route home, as we saw lots of interesting things, and the roads were much better.

It was so wonderful to meet the rally group - what a bunch of wackos (and I mean that in the nicest way)! Even though we didn't go on the rides during the weekend, John and I had such a great time swapping stories, sharing meals, and hanging out with y'all!

Fred, thanks a LOT for posting all those awesome shots! I'm too tired to even begin to comment on individual shots. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone's pictures. I'll download mine tonight, and try to get them posted in the next day or so.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the GREAT TIME!!!!

Kirk, I'm glad you made it home safely - wow - you guys sure know how to rack up the miles!
Skip, I'm truly sorry that you couldn't make it - we'll see you next year, though!
