If you are concerned about MPG, then the GL1800 is about the same or better than most full tour bikes. Some of the other big tourers even get less than 35 mpg, and have less power. My GL1800 gets the same mileage riding 2-up and loaded, vs. my T did riding solo and empty. As a solo bike, I prefer the T due to it being lighter and having a more reclined riding position, but for 2-up riding and power, the GL1800 Wing is hands down better on long runs.

As for the Venture V4, the only drawback is the excess engine heat. The bigger the engine, the more heat it projects in slow traffic. With the GL1800, the heat is blown out the front vents in the fairing and away from the riders when riding slow, and out to the sides past the riders legs when running fast.
