In another topic ( for sale i think) cleaning factory shields came up. Someone mentioned using brake fluid. Well i had to try it. Had some extra DOT4. Wet a rag and wipe it on...wow! No effort at all. It cleaned off the old sealer/protectant. Do a small section and be sure to clean the area of brake fluid so it doesn't eat the shield.
How long did you leave it on the shield?
Did you just wipe it on and wash it off or did you let it soak a little?
And one last question, did you have to put the brake fluid on more than once?

Thanks,
