I did not let it soak. I used circular motions like i was waxing and used little to no effort. One time was all i needed. I did about a 6"x6" area at a time. I used winshield washer solvent(the kind in your car) to clean off the brake fluid. I would guess the fluid was on 15-20 seconds before i would wash off that area. No problems. When i was totally finished i hosed off the entire windshield. I see a few spots i missed and i'll do'em later but it is a def. improvment. On a side note i used headlight polishing compound last yr. to get rid of the old finish. So i didn't have alot to remove this time. Be careful near the trim. I was careful not to get brake fluid under it. I don't know if it would eat the rubber under it.
