pretty impressive, eh?  you guys all said "nearly" the same things I said (actually, I invented a few cusswords), & my flintstone shoe/brakes are almost gone!!

so the lesson is this.....    never ever ever take the word of the seller, & Yes, Think for your Self!!!!....  I was told there were new pads both front & rear, I went with that....
I actually use my front far more than I use the rear, seemed like I started hearing some grinding from the rear (Duh!!) so decided to change them both.... & the bummer is, the front pads were in Great shape!!! I coulda left them on, but oh well... (so the info I was given was 1/2 right!)

Maybe the Reason, if there was one by the previous owner, or original owner, who might've done the work......    I actually stripped a 14mm socket trying to get the rear caliper off!   bought another, & Actually Broke the Ratchet!!  I soaked the thing with 'knock-er-loose" before even trying, & luckily, I had another ratchet handle...   finally got the damn thing off....   am guessing the previous "fixer" just gave up on the job....   What the Hell!!!!     I believe someone had literally Drowned the fittings in lok-tite, & it was like busting concrete!!
anyhow....    wanted ya'all to see......      the rotor actually looks OK, a little "used" but seems ok....   I'm gonna get my wrench to look see if he thinks it's all in good spec's....     WOW is Right !!!!
