You guys are really temping me. I love the Americade I lived in the Albany area for 20 yrs before moving to NC. I still have some friends there and would love
to make the trip but don't know if this 60 yr old but could make it. I have to check the dates for my trip to Pa for the thunder in the valley trip.

Seriously though, I'm a little older than you and I know of your concerns. Let's just put it this way. If you can come you're going to have a great time and it looks like you'll meet quite a few forum members. If you decide to come let me know and I'll add your name to the list.

I just made reservations at http://www.studiomotel.com/ arrive on 5-31
depart 6-6. Looks like a nice little place ( I booked a room in their brand new building) off the main drag and a good price based on it's location.

Congrats Tony. Thanks for reminding me. I made a reservation at the Red Roof Inn on Wolfe Road in Albany.
I was tempted to stay at the Red Roof in Queensbury, on Rt. 9 just 6 miles south of Lake George, but the price differential is $25 per night. Having stayed at the one in Albany I know it is nothing special, but it serves the purpose even if it is 57 miles from Lake George.

We would like to make it to Americade some day. Just not in the cards this year. Marsha and I will be on a trike trip to Key West during that time. Can't
reschedule the trip as we are meeting our son, his wife, and three of our grandchildren at Disney World in the middle of the ride. Maybe next year.
We will be in the NY area in September. Hopefully we will be able to meet up with Al and some others in the area. Y'all have fun!!!! -Dan

Fredrider wrote:Fred, When I added in the really high rate at for the end of the week the Studio motel is 140 bucks (for the whole week with tax) less than the red roof in queensbury (it was actualy about $100 Cheaper than the lowest I could find in the Queensbury area which was my desired spot). My only concern is that it is far enough away from Canada street to get some sleep. ~1 mile to the Holiday Inn and .5 mile to million dollar beach, but nothing but trees are adjacent to it according to google earth. I Can't believe how much hotels are anywhere closer than Albany. Being happy about a no name hotel for just a bit under $700 (with tax) for 6 days is a shame. You have to be 60 miles away to not get the "americade special" (rip off) rate. I was able to get nice hotels for $80 10 miles from the hoot, why are the same brands $150 plus within 40 miles of americade? I hope my mind will change once I'm there but so far 3 times bigger does not mean 3 times better just 3 times as expensive. So, I can see why you have
decided to take the drive in each morning.

Fred, there is now a Red Roof Inn in Queensbury, NY, just a short way up the road from the Great Escape. I believe it opened in late 2007. It's about a
mile from the Motel we stay at in Queensbury. It would really shorten that commute from Albany. http://www.redroof.com/re...s/inn_details.asp?num=670
Rich Sorry Fred, sent this along this before seeing your earlier
post.

Okay Alain, I figure I can only hang for three days at the most; so I'm looking to make hotel reservations now. If I come up there early on Tuesday and
stay Tuesday and Wednesday nights, think you can schedule an evening meal on Wednesday for all of us forum members to get together? I should would like to sit
down and swap lies with all of these morons, uh, good people.

Guns90 wrote: Yes Gary....love to, but it seems like Tuesday would be better. Fred had planned to leave on Wednesday to visit his family on his way home. Is Tuesday a problem? Typically Tuesday is the first day of the Tour Expo and I spend the day at the vendors. I believe Rich (maniac317) does the same thing.

Okay, okay, okay... (remember Joe Pesci as Leo Getz?) Anyway, looking at the dates that everyone is going to be there, its impossible to have one dinner to get
all of us together. We're either going to have to plan a couple of dinners, for those who want to see everyone (if that's possible), or one dinner that
the majority can make.
Alain, I'm registered; both for Americade, and for Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the Red Roof Inn in Glens Falls. (Like Fred, its more than I wanted to spend, but I'm trying to get my tired body through the whole three days.) Edit me in the attendee list for June 2-4.

Look, I can see bikes and bike stuff anywhere. I'm there mainly to see all of you guys. Whatever will work out best for the all of us is fine with me.
I'm coming by myself, and unless Marisa Miller or Jessica Biel show up and fall for me, I'll be available.

Good to hear you can make it this year Gary
. Joanne and I had planned
on signing up for the dinner cruise Tues. evening but looks like we'll go for Wed. night instead. Tuesday seems to be the best day/night for all of us to
get together according to the posts I'm seeing. If all goes as I hope it will our friends Ricky and Marlene will be joining us this year, staying with us
through the week.

Hello Rich...looking forward to meeting up with you and Joanne again. It's always nice to meet new friends who enjoy our passion. Looking forward to
meeting and talking with your friends.
I have never taken one of the cruises and thought this year I would. I'll look into the Wednesday night cruise also.

I just got to thinking about who all is going to Americade and I realize that one of the largest contingencies of Forum members, those from Michigan, have not
said a thing about going. Is no one from Michigan going to Americade? Is it only the guys from South Carolina, Maine, Connecticut and Ohio that can travel long
distances?
Many of you guys from Michigan are new to the forum. Here's a great chance to meet 10 other guys from the forum. What say you guys?....
