Tony enjoy the ride and the Lee Parks class. I wish I was going with you to that. I envy all of you going early but three days is better than none. I'm
also sorry I'll be missing the dinner on Tuesday but its understandable with some people leaving early. Hope all a safe and dry trip to the Adirondacks .
Nothing worst than riding in the rain. Hope to see some of you up there with any luck. Take care all and Ride safe! Phil.

Tony,
Glad you and Sean had a good ride to the DC area yesterday. Did you take the Slab, or did you get to enjoy some twisties? Andy will be riding with us on Sunday too. He'll be riding down from Chagrin Falls tomorrow and staying at the MainStay Suites like us. We'll have a nice little four bike troupe riding up through PA and Catskill Park. The weather is looking better too. After today high pressure, fair skies and moderate temperatures will dominate for most of the week. What could be better?

As I mentioned in my last post, some things were not quit ready for me to head out on this trip. My wife got things rolling when she piped in and said that I
needed to stop threatening my daughter about the duffel bag she lost and just be thankful that that 40 year old faded thing was gone. (Its hard giving up
something that's been a part of your life so long.) Anyway, we didn't have a small 'weekender-sized' case any more either (I thought my other
daughter borrowed that one) so, at my wife's suggestion, I headed down to the mall to get a replacement suitable to use on the bike. It turned out to be a
good time to be looking for luggage; most of the stores are having good sales on it. After looking in Penney's, Macy's, Target and Sears for the best
deal, I found what I wanted, but decided that before I bought it, I would also go look over at the exchange on the sub base. Not only did I find that exact
case I liked over at Sears, it was on sale at 50%, and no tax.
I also strolled over to the camera shop while there to have a look. I had been reading online camera reviews by the so-called experts since I discovered that my camera had quit working, so I had an idea of the ones I wanted to look at. Well, to make a short as short as possible, I bought a Canon SD 1200 IS. Now everyone (especially that demanding Dawn) is going to get pictures of Americade. Things are starting to fall into place. I'm leaving for Americade in three days!

I fully expect to arrive at Carey's Lakeside Cottages in Bolton's Landing no later than 4:00 PM and then I want to get into Lake George before the
7:00 PM closing time for sign-up of pre-registered participants. I believe that you guys are riding on Monday and you'll probably have dinner on the road.
If you're eating in town give me a call and I'll try to meet up with you guys. Otherwise I will probably see all of you at the Expo on the Beach.
Remember the vendor show that use to be in the convention hall is no more. It's all on the beach this year.

Fred, We took the slab most of the way but rode a bit of US-15 to try to avoid DC trafic, which was somewhat sucessfull. Weather is looking good this weekend,
should be good riding all around. Alain, Sean and I are planing on truncating the ride with Fred on monday to get back to lake george before 7 for sign in. If
the timing works out i'll give you a call about dinner. BTW I'm glad to have to eat my words on the Cavs blowing game 5 last night.

Okay thanks Tony....I'll expect the call.
I just did a check of a couple of the weather websites and it looks like (typical) I'll be riding up to Americade in a Thunderstorm. Rains are predicted before 2:00 PM, so it lightining and thunder are involved it may delay my arrival. I can ride in the rain but the lightning spooks the Shazit out of me. I'll wait that part out.

Following are some pictures from today's 470 mile ride, 199 miles of which was on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It was clear and beautiful,
like it always is after a big rain clears.

Today, I had the boys wash the bike for me. (Its not as good as I do on it, but hey, I didn't sweat any.) I began making my final preparations; checked
tire pressure and oil level, picked up all of my prescriptions, went to the bank and got money for food and hookers, saw my dealer and got enough marijuana to
last me through the trip, and put new batteries in my Life Alert. Yep, I'm ready to go.

Sunday and I'm all pins and needles about tomorrows departure. I'm riding alone but that's a demon I've got to get over. I have watched the
weather channel several times already and it still looks like rain for Monday's trip but now they call for it later in the day. Perhaps I can race ahead of
it. Well maybe not race, but at least be ahead of it. Got my fingers crossed I don't encounter any rain going up. That would be a first for me. Some rains
fine but keep that lightning out of it.
No bike cleaning for me. I figure to do that Monday when I get there. I have changed the oil and the filter. I went with the Honda oil and wow....a gallon was $23. I haven't had the courage to try the Rotella yet. Figured I would try it but not on such an important trip. I'll check the tire pressure and coolant today. If I don't have something to do today I'll go looney (watch it Gary) sitting around all day. I've got my travel bag, best damn thing I ever bought for that bike. Okay maybe the second or third best thing. Clothing for this trip....minimal.....thank you God for making me a boy!
Camera charged....of course.
One thing I'm hoping to find while at Americade are some good riding boots. I hope that my trip up in my old riding boots will be my last. I fantasize over riding with a good comfortable pair of boots. Okay enough rambling....is it Monday yet?

Okay Alain, three things...
First of all, you are NOT riding alone. You'll be riding with the Spirit. Second of all, when are you going to start trusting Fred and me? Just get the Rotella oil. And third, you gotta come up with some better fantasies. You fantasize over riding with a good comfortable pair of boots? I fantasize riding with Marisa Miller! On a really good day I fantasize riding Marisa Miller. Get with it, Dude. You're starting to sound pretty old.
