I did find I had a problem getting the tire back on the bike with if inflated, so we drained all the air and that shrunk the tire enough to squeeze it past all the side bag carrier bars, and we did not have to take anything off... went fairly well actually. I was afraid we may need to pull the fender off. The only issue we had was, it looked like, the previous owner took the bike into a shop to have his tires replaced in the past and there was a little to much rubber build up on the inside of the rim, and lots of nicks and marks from past careless tire changes.
Brake clean, brillo pad, and a bit of scrubbing (and possibly a beer or two)
made short order of that job.
