found a '99 kawa nomad that i'm trying to buy. this bike is dressed to the max and the guy is about my age and says he was in an accident 20 years
ago(non motorcycle related)and when he bought the nomad, he had it set up for comfort...lowered, backrest, seat redone, etc. he says it fits him like a glove
and he's only selling to buy a ....harley!!

fred,
funny you should mention that. the guys that always inspect my vehicles are a father/son garage here and also hot rodders, so we're good friends. anyway, when i go there the first thing they ask is: IS THIS YOUR "KEEPER"!! i tell them they're all keepers until i find somebody who wants it more than i do!
actually, my true intentions with this bike is to take a long ride, either with my nephew, or out to the T rally. we'd both for sure come there if his vacation was then, but it starts 4th of july weekend for two weeks. we've talked about riding up to J&P's, go to the motorcycle museum there and also they have a huge bike night that week and then go over into illinois near chicago for another huge bike night. not exactly a big thing as far as scenery, but my nephew and i are very close and we've not done anything together for awhile. after that, i probably will put it up for sale, unless this bike is better on my back than any others i've had. i've made the deal and have my trailer hooked up ready to go. it's about 150 miles from k.c., and it's suppose to rain tomorrow, so decided to trailer it home. bud |

thanks for not letting me die yet alain, but i really don't have that many toys because i usually sell one
before i get another. really wanted to sell the custom '82 chevy pickup before i bought another bike, but this was just to good of a deal. it was
everything he said it was. sort of refreshing to get honest answers from a seller over the phone.....or a buyer! fellow looked at my truck two weeks ago sunday
and told me "consider it sold, he'd bring me the money monday",,,haven't heard from him since! then this week a guy looked at it three times
and finally said he was 99% sure he'd take it. i had the truck parked in my front yard and he tore my yard up getting it out on the street, plus spun mud
all under the truck so i had to spend an hour or so cleaning it. thing is, i had TOLD him to get a run, so he wouldn't do that. he backed up and spun out
in the grass/mud three times!! then called that evening and said he had found an el camino he was buying. go figure. have another guy suppose to come tomorrow
and look at it. thing is, all these guys are retired and you would assume they would be up front and tell you what their intentions are. i'm not upset
about not selling it, as i know it will sell eventually, because it's that nice. i just get upset when they don't call you back or even tell you they
are looking at something else, they'll let you know!
enough ranting. got the bike home and i'm anxious to take a ride, but it started raining (again) just as i was unloading it and then really started pouring about the time i got it in the garage. suppose to be nice tomorrow, so maybe i'll get a little saddle time on it. bud |

To me, one of the most appealing things about the Nomad has been the flowing shape of the saddlebags. Have you noticed that the 2009 version has different
shaped saddlebags. Now they look like Yamaha bags, not that that is bad, but I like the ones Bud has a whole lot better. Sigh...

thanks for the compliments guys. the guy really kept this bike clean. no rust anywhere, no scratches, etc. i took it out last night after the rain left the
area and the streets had dried and it runs great. he has installed a thunder kit and it has open vance and hines. sounds more like a harley than any metric
i've owned. reminds me of a T on steroids! no disrespect meant to the T, but this bike is big and runs like he*#!! way it's dressed guy told me it
weighed over 800 lbs.
I'M IN NEED OF OPINIONS AGAIN...thinking about loosing the trunk. i got the backrest and rack with the bike, and thinking i might like that better. the trunk is handy, but i just feel it makes the bike more top heavy both in looks and handling. it has a quick release, so guess i could change it out and see what i like. oh yeah, gotta stud these seats !! see, i am finding things
to do to it!!

Well, gee whiz...I leave for a couple of days, and I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you've got a new ride, Bud!! I'm not a big fan of green,
either, but that bike is gorgeous!! I'm sure you'll enjoy the heck out of it.

Bud is my hero... but also my worst nightmare. When you get done with the bike just give it to me Bud, you'll feel generous giving to the needy and I will
be blessed with a bigger bike. LOL. Seriously Bud, If I went through toys like you do my wife would have had me exterminated and disposed of in a very inhumane
and unlady like manner.

Do my eyes deceive me, or is that a set of Vance & Hines Dual Baggers on that Nomad? I've always wanted to hear how V&H's sound on a Nomad,
hint hint.
I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'. |
