Posts: 1800 06/28/09 9:56 PM	Tags : None many of you may remember rudys accident on his ducati last year when a trash truck crossed two lanes in front of him and totaled his bike. he never replaced it, bought a used porsche boxster instead. but he calls the other night and wants me to go look at a honda metropolitan with him. he bought it for a song and it looks brand new. ask what he was going to do with it, and he said he just wanted to ride it around the neighborhood. it is a neat little machine. i even gave him some add-ons...the visors for the turn signals! bud

Posts: 1800 06/29/09 7:25 AM	fred, good point...i'm just waiting for rudy to put some ducati emblems on it al, i can say rudy has a BIG grin on his face while riding it, but i feel it's something he'll get tired of pretty quickly. he's been "pampering" it much like he did his ducati. truth be told, i believe he's still a little shaken by the accident and maybe this is his way of "getting back in the saddle"...a little at a time. we're planning a trip to indy in august for some motorcycle races and he keeps saying "we'll take our bikes and do some riding while there". problem is, he has no bike right now, so maybe he's working up to one! stan, this thing is lightweight. we took the trailer to pick it up, and since it was fairly close, we didn't secure the rear end. when i hit a bump, it jumped sideways a little. we went back to staighten it and i think you could lift the rear with one hand. dan, good question...even rudy has commented it does nothing!! probably like some of our m/c add-ons....just looks cool!! bud Last Edited By: kcroadrocket 06/29/09 7:29 AM. She also takes hers to town and rides it locally, if she isn't doing any serious shopping. We had some 50cc yamaha's and they were fun, but found them a little too puny for real roads.. Congratulations on the nice scoot!

As I pull out of the parking lot this little scooter is pulling out behind me. This little bugger then gets ahead of me leads me all the way to my home street and keeps going on. So this guy works with me (?) and leaves near my home. I gotta meet this guy and find out more about this little scooter of his. Posts: 1800 07/01/09 7:29 AM	alain, guess there's sort of a sub culture of these and other scooters. since rudy got his, we've found out all kinds of things about them. guys are customizing them, modifying the engine, etc. rudy has already removed a restrictor plate from the carb base. went from about a 3/8" diameter to a 1" diameter and he says it really made a difference. think he's going to do an exhaust next. you can go to <totalruckus.com> and get a lot of info on different scooters. heck, i'm even thinking about one, but i'd want a 150cc. here's a few modified metros.
