Finally getting around to this post, been a member for a few weeks, Bought a 2000 T, sold my 2004 Nomad. Had been riding Kawasaki pretty much exclusively for a
long time, (1st big street one was a 1976 KZ900), picked up a 2003 750 ACE last August, then one thing led to another,,, I'm in the Kansas City area, Have
lots of questions, especially seats/windshields, I will search before asking when I get some extra time. After the Nomad I'm loving the smooth running
engine and light handling.

Hello Cleve and welcome to the forum. Congratulations on acquiring your 2000 Tourer. It is always interesting to learn why someone selects the Tourer. Since
you were a long-time Kawasaki rider what made you transition? Were you actively seeking a Tourer or did it just happen?
Well if you got any questions were here to help you out and if you just want to talk about the riding experiences your having were hear to listen to those also. Jump in whenever you've got an opinion or comment. Again welcome to the forum and I am looking forward to 'talking' with you more in the future.

I have been having some neck and shoulder problems, the Nomad was just too heavy, approx 820 lbs wet with all the extras on it. The single pin crank design was also a problem at lower speeds, couldn't find the sweet spot on my 16 mile commute, it didn't like being below 55 to 60 mph in 5th, So it was 4th gear or take the interstate. That said , I did put almost 25K miles on it in 4-1/2 years. Bought an ACE 750 last year, I like it, then ran across info on the Tourer after spending time online. Been at the dealers looking, they just didn't have anything I wanted. Was almost ready to go for a new left-over 07 Sabre in AR when I got the lead on the Tourer. (Did Kawasaki come out with the Nomad in 99 BECAUSE Honda built the Tourer in 98?) |

The Nomad did come out around '98 or '99, then went FI about 5 or so years later. My T didn't like running below 45 in 5th gear.
On the GL1800 now, I could run 30 -130 in 5th gear. Stan |
