There is a road widening project in progress on Hwy 601, between Yadkinville and Davie County. About 3 miles south of Yadkinville, near the 2nd caution light (Courtney Crossing), there is a 45mph-zone, which sometimes serves as a speed-trap. Just as you ride past the 45mph sign (you can see the caution light on the hill ahead) there are two sections of fresh pavement where wider culverts have been installed. The fresh pavement is BELOW the existing road surface, leavin a bit of a nasty lip at each side. Tom in Yadkinville
