I have a chance to pick up a complete radio, cb, intercom with handlebar controls and all . It's off a Goldwing 1200, not sure what year yet. Would I be able to adapt this system to the T ? Any problems you may forsee in doing this?

Jay,
I always say "Anything can be done" but I would think getting a unit from J&M would probably be easier and look nicer. I have a radio on my wing but find I use the MP3 player within my GPS patched through the AUX cable a better solution. I've steered away from a CB for serveral reasons.... - I'm usually on my own and don't have anyone to talk to - A CB radio that interconnects with the GL1800 costs $500 (about $450 too much in my book) - In order to use a CB I would have to get a mic and cable my helmet to the bike If you're looking for a nice sounding system, catch up with Ken (GuitarKen) in NC. He put a nice setup on his VTX 1800. Andy |

Andy,
It's from a '86 wing. I think I will pass on it after seeing what it looks like. what a maze of components and wires I already have a mp3 player with fm radio, guess I'll try that for a while.Jay

Good plan Jay. I did what Andy did, to a point. I have a mp3 player built into my GPS. I wired in a 100 watt power amp and two speakers. It sounds great....even at 75mph. Plenty loud. Bob

Jay,
There sure are a lot of wires in there. Last winter I spliced in a 200 watt amp which I mounted in the trunk. I think the wiring harness on the wing is the same one they use in the Civic. I cringe to think of the mess I might find if I had to take the handlebar controls off. Andy |

Was there something about a radio in that thread Rick? I'm still chuckling after reading all that
