"> I have come up with a way to build a set of chromed housing/ black
faced speakers for my T. These can be mounted either on the handle bars or down on the top of the engine gaurds. Everything including the clamps to mount them
will be chromed or stainless except for the speaker grills. The speakers are hi-quality 3.5" outdoor type that will stand up to the elements. They are not
amplified but I have located a very small 30W amplifier also so that you can play your ipod/ mp3 or discman through. The amplifier you will have to furnish but
I have a source for them. Un-amplified you will need a std type auto radio to power them.
I can build these for around $85 in material cost. The more components I buy at a time the cheaper it will cost to build them. I'm going to build a pair and mount them on my T. When I do I'll take some photos of them for you to see.
Now for the big question. How many of you would be interested in a set also? JC Whitney sells a similar set of these for around $300 unamplified, and $400 amplified. Call me cheap or frugal but I refuse to pay that kind of money when I don't have to. I never buy anything that I can make my self (within reason) if the savings are significant enough. I hope to have these built and mounted within 2 weeks.
So again, if you think that you would also like to have a set of these for less than $80 then let me know. I need to let my suppliers know my intentions for shipping quotes.
