None on motorcycles but I have used them on some of my tractors and boats. Again it's the caveat about getting what you pay for. I've had some astoundingly good ones and one or two that weren't worth the powder it would take........ I don't know what type sealed battery those on ebay are, but depending on price they may well be worth a look.

Everytime I looked at a maint free battery for the T, it seemed they did not have an exact fit or size.

no experience with that brand but that p/n is the same Yuasa calls out on their website for Shadows including the T. Their MF doesn't have the extra deep middle 4 cells as the YuMicron battery.
I will convey some experience I've learned from other riders that use MF batteries in their other-than-T bikes. Despite being MF, the acid still depletes over time and one day you find the battery has no capacitance and no electrolyte. ymmv. That being said, I've considered for myself going to a MF battery since I am up to topping electrolyte 3 times/year now. But the battery in my T is getting long in the tooth (dunno if that has any relation). ride often, ride safe duke |

I have a 99 T, the battery is showing signs of heading south, not shure if its the org, I bought the bike used. Don,t like to the need to add /check the water level. Sealed bats that I have had in the past go 3to4 years, and yes, when they quit, they quit. Think I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the info.......

All the sealed batteries I have seen advertised do not have the same capacity as the T's OEM battery. Because they do not have the 4 extra long cells in the middle, giving the T's battery its T-shape, the maintenance-free batteries that will fit in the T's battery box are only 14 amp-hours, not 16Ah, like the T's OEM battery. If you purchase a MF battery for your T it may not have all the capacity that you need depending on whether you are really demanding on the battery, such as whether you try to start it a lot in cold weather or whether you have a lot of electrical accessories like communications/music playing equipment or extra lights. Those are considerations you may want to think about.

15 days and about 200 miles, and no problems. On the long term we will see. It does crank well, and my Batt. Tender does not show its charging it at all after I plug it in, and I don't have to check the water........

Still doing well, no bad reports. I did leave the radio on one night and it would not start,let it sit for four hours,tried it again before I jumped it and it did.

After alot of research I put a sealed battery in mine.It is not T shaped.T shaped batteries don't charge well because of there shape.You fry the out side cells because there short while trying to get the inside cells to charge because there long.My sealed battery has a bit more cold cranking amps and made all the difference in the world.Cold weather or not it snapes to a start.I wish I would have bought one two years ago

Bob, that's good news. On your recommendation, my next T battery will be sealed. I hope she does not take it personally, that a T no longer has a T-shaped battery.

Re: sealed battery | #14 | ||

The site that got me started was motorcyclebatteriesusa.com The battery is a ytz with the model #HY16A-Ab 230cca 11.2ah.If you look around I know you can found this alot cheaper-I did .It was like $60.00.The size looks right just make sure you measure and its smaller than the T battery not having the two long center cells.Hope this helps-it made all the differance and don't forget your junior battery tender-ITS a must. P.S. after getting to this site go to search and put in ytz then look for ytx14 battery then at the lower part of the page they show upgrade hy16a-ab.Good luck!
