Now that my exhaust can exhale freely, have noticed a definite flat spot off of idle. The pilot or idle jets are known to be too lean (for polution control). The stock Jets are #42, have ordered #45's (same part #,with a 45 instead of 42).
Since the carbs are a "pain" to access, will also shim the metering rod at the same time. They used to have notches for this purpose, but again pollution controls have eliminated these, and shimming is only option.
K & N does not have a kit for the 'T' at this time. They do however offer an air filter, part #HA1187. Have expirenced a true power boost from exhaust work, and now will try to smooth out the power curve.
From what I can tell, I am entering "unchartered waters". If anyone has already tried these mods, I would like to hear from you. Otherwise I will let you know of my progress. oh2ryde@yahoo.com
