I have a 97 Tourer with (what I thought was) a stock exhaust. On my way to Bike Week in Laconia, NH this weekend, I noticed my T began to sound beefier. After pulling over and looking, I found 2 things; 1) the original exhaust has had all the baffles removed by the original owner, and 2) I had just blew off one of the end caps.
After arriving in NH, I removed the other end cap to balance out the pending problem. I must admit, I LIKE the new sound, and even my wingman (Harley owner) said "hey, that's almost as loud as mine!".
The problem: I've notice a little drop in horse power, about a 5 to 8 mile per gallon drop in milage, and she now doesn't like to stay running until she's warmed up.
Do I need to have the carbs re-jetted? Is there an adjustment on the carbs I can do myself? HELP!!!
