GenMar Handlebar Risers? |
Lead | ||
|
Has anyone installed these risers on their Tourers? Since I am a bit on the short side, I thought these risers might move the handlebars back a bit, which would allow me to sit further back into the seat pocket. Any comments?

I don't know anyone who used these, but I do know someone that bought complete risers for his Valkyre. He liked them very much,and they looked good.
Being somewhat verticaly challenged myself, I changed my bars. I found some 1" bars for a Harley that pull back towards me and aren't as wide. BIG IMROVEMENT! Also lowered my bike about 1.25" which helps a lot.

I put the Genmars on my 99 T. Easy to do and made a big difference in handlebar comfort. I'm 5'8" tall so the bars were a real stretch for me before. Braz

Would be interested myself. Looked at replacing the bars, but didn't find anything I liked. The risers might be just the thing. Does anyone have a web site address where they can be found. :D

John, Try zianet.com/GenMar/ for those risers. I really do like them and it is really hard to see them if you don't know they are there.

I have the Cobra risers on my T, which I like. But they were pricey.
I put the Genmars on my Valkyrie trike. They work just great. Haven't have any problems with them. -Dan |

Had them on all my bikes
Nighthawk 750, Sabre 1100, Kawi Concours and now on the ACE T. Look great and work very well. |

Hey Geep, nice to meet you. I have the genmars on my bike also. They fit and work well; however, they weren't enough for me. I have an extremely short
wingspan. I'm only 5'5", so I found that I needed a little more. If the genmars aren't quite enough for you, here's a couple of other
things.....
See if you can find a wrecked 1100 Aero and get the risers off of it. They're about the same size as the T's, but they have a differant bend to them and point more to the rear. Then put the genmars on. You'll still be able to use all of the OEM cables too. If you really want to go extreme, in addition to that change, replace your handlebars with Valk handlebars. They are the same width and shape, but have about an extra 2 1/4 inches in length toward the rear of the bike. This change will require some slight modification to your cables. I rerouted mine and had to replace the front brake line with a longer one. This makes for a very clean looking mod; however, you will now have considerable distance between your handlebars and windshield. I filled that gap with 100 watt Planet Audio marine speakers and placed a 200 watt amp in the right saddle bag to push my mp3 player. Ask anyone who knows me, it's a great sounding system. Or you can just use any one or two of these suggeestions. Just food for thought. Good luck!
