I know, politics is probably best left out of this forum. I mean, we all get along so well, why start arguments? So let's keep this anonymous and without discussion.

Pat,
Is "None of the above" still an option? Where's Alfred E. Newman when you need him. Oh, wait; he ran a few years ago as J. Ross Perot. ![]() Andy |

Sure looks like I'm in the minority. At least until November.

There are some other Parties, like the Green Party and the Libertarian Party...and a bunch of others. I sometimes wish we had a real multi-party system, maybe like Italy (also home to some wonderfully designed motorcycles and cars) where there are a lot more choices and voters talk about issues more than candidates and their personalities. In a simple two party system the parties must ultimately become more moderate to capture that third of voters who look less at issue differences and more at things like a candidate's image to determine who they will vote for. Do we choose bikes for appearance only? Why do we ride so many different kinds of bikes, but choose between only two very similar parties? Some European systems have proportional representation; for example, a party which wins 30% of a vote for a "Congress" gets 30% of the seats. We have more centrist, winner takes all elections. Multi-party systems have very interesting issue-driven elections, but at least we don't have a Parliment to choose our Prime Minister for us. And we can vote a lying or misguided (doesn't know he's lying) President out after one term.
Maybe we can compare countries and the motorcycles they make? ... those BMWs are nice, what is their government and educational system like?... Or, should we make some comparisons, Politics to Motorcycle Engines: Fascism and communism = one party, like a one cylinder engine. (Strong, efficient) USA & England=Two parties, like Two cylinders. (Simple, it works) etc. |

I feel that question is in bad taste as it is nobodys business but mine if I do or do not have a party preference.

If John Kerry was a Motorcycle, I wonder what kind he would be? If George W. Bush were a Bike, what kind would he be?
I used to have a "Husky" dirt bike that I called "Teddy Roosevelt" ... you know, leading the charge up the hill. |

I wish there was a strong party that would take the Constitution seriously, and stop using it like toilet paper like the two we have now. Something like the Libertarians without pot.
