A three day weekend ride to the Pacific Coast. Approximately 155 miles and 3+ hours each way from Bremerton to the peninsula. If you have your map of the Great
State of Washington handy, you can follow Highway 3 from Bremerton to Shelton, turn south on 101 for just a few miles to the junction with 108 towards
McCleary, west on 8 to the the junction with 12, south on 107 until we connect again with 101 (Highway 101 circumnavigates the Olympic Peninsula). Follow 101
to the Long Beach Peninsula at the mouth of the mighty Columbia River. This is where the Lewis & Clark's Corps of Discovery first looked upon the
Pacific Ocean ( http://www.cr.nps.gov/nr/travel/lewisandclark/cap.htm ).
While they did set up camp on the north side of the river's mouth initially, they soon relocated to Fort Satsop on the southern banks.

It was a cold, dark weekend, but the fire was warm, the company delightful and the twisty bits on Highway 101 between Raymond and Ilwaco were fun! We kept
seeing yellow diamond road signs with arrow headed snakes telling us to slow down. The T handled the trip with no problems two-up.
