While I am in fairly good shape I am on the downward slide of the 50's. In split seconds my mind was pondering bodiliy injury or saving the bike. It went with saving the bike. All I can say is that when the brain made that decision it must have released some pretty serious amounts of adrenalin. The bike started to come up fractions of an inch at a time. It seems like it took forever but it finally got past the center of gravity and started to come upright. I had saved it. I put the kickstand down and SLOWLY rested the bike on the stand. I got off and sat down on the concrete pad and started to shake. It probably took me a couple minutes before I could start filling the bike.
You can bet I will always double check the kickstand from now on as I learned that I'm too damn old to try that again.
