Me: Married , fat, bald, guy. High School History teacher / football & baseball coach in Texas. I have been riding for 14 years.
Motorcycle:
I purchase a 1996 Honda Shadow ACE 1100 with less than 3400 miles on it today. Previous owner is a Navy pilot who polished it more than he rode it. I paid
$3400 for the bike. I had never ridden a cruiser prior to riding this bike home. Definately different than my current ride. 2001 Aprilia Falco. I bought
the bike so my wife & I could take some trips together. She enjoyed riding on the back of sportbikes when she was younger, not so much now.
Previous bikes in order of purchase:
1992 Yamaha Seca II (600cc air-cool standard) - now the "wife's bike" that never gets ridden
1989 Yamaha FZR600 (much more sporty)
1991 Yamaha FZR600 (got a deal from a friend)
1991 Yamaha FZR1000 (sit down, shut up, and hold on)
1995 Honda VFR750 - bike fit like a glove, ran like a top. Put on about 50k miles. Sold for more POWER!
2001 Aprilia Falco SL1000 (v-twin power) - Italian style, what Honda should have turned the VFR into.
Now the 1996 Honda ACE 1100
First impression - Cushy seat. Wow those floor boards are way in front of you & the bars are wide. When am I supposed to shift?
I am looking forward to learning from all of you, and of course there will be mods in the future.
Sorry for the poor picture.
AJ

Just kidding.
