I love my music. I want to take it with me. Anyone have any suggestions, opinions, reviews on motorcycle stereo system for our beloved T.
Still waiting for someone to tell me how to remove the lens cover off the speedo so I can clean the pizza topping growing inside.

I use an MP3 player on mine. I bought a mini amp from this source; http://motorcycletunes.com/products.asp?cat=21
and made my own set of speakers out of a set of spotlight housings. But, the company that I bought the speakers from took my suggestion and is now offering the same speakers already mounted in the housings for less than $50. I do love the way the V&H pipes sound on my bike , but it gets old hearing them after awhile on long rides . I m thinking about finding some removable
baffles for them . I was also looking into the optional stereo equipment that some of the aftermarket web sites have . I really like the look of the ones Bama
posted above , how do they sound ? Also , do you think I could even hear them over the pipes on my bike ?

My homemade speakers sound just great. The larger housings give them a little more depth than the factory made versions. I have the Jardine Rumblers on my bike
and have no problem hearing the MP3 player over those. I can't say how they would sound over the V&H pipes. The amp has more power than the speakers
can handle, so I had to turn the amps gain button down about 1/3 from full power. Having the speakers closer to ear level like this helps some.

I really like having my mp3 player in my helmet. No extra gear to put on the bike. Fits nicely in my pocket... the ear buds fit nicely under the helmet. I can
put enough music on it to last all day. Put it in "shuffle" mode and each song is a new suprise.

I tried using the ear buds for a while also, but they prevented me from hearing anything else like ambulances, car horns, screeching tires, trains, approaching
fire trucks, etc. I soon realized that they were a safety hazard to both me and the other vehicles. With the speakers my ears are not dedicated to just the
music. Helmet mounted headphones are good second choice, but you will need to buy an inline battery operated headphone amplifier to hear them well. These are
available at Radio Shack for around $12.

If you have the baffles out of your V&H pipes, you'll need one of those $10,000 low rider set ups to hear anything!! I love my V&H, but not with the baffles out!! Chicago. I would never really harm my baggers!! (Except, maybe, just to piss you off!!!) -Dan |
