Anyone have experience with installing a Rivco HVT001 Center Stand on a '95 Honda VT1100C2 Shadow ACE?

I put one on my Ace Tourer. Don't know if there is a difference between the ace and the tourer though.

It will probably fit the Shadow ACE. Now, the real question - is it difficult to get the bike onto the stand? I have heard that some heavy bikes (Valkrie) with
the HVT001 are very hard for one person to get the bike off the ground.
BTW - I love the Tourer and wish it was available when I bought the '95 model ACE. I especially like the solid wheels instead of spokes. |

It is somewhat difficult to get it up on the stand, but it can be done with practice and the right technique.
One way is to park the rear wheel on a 1x6 board. This works great but it can be hard to get the board out from under the wheel once on the stand. With a little practice, it can be done w/o the 1x6 board. I simply put my foot on the center stand w/o pushing it all the way down to the ground, then with a slight backward roll of the bike to gain momentum and while stepping on the stand , I lift and pull back simultaneously. The bike will jump right up on the stand. Best add on item I ever bought for the T. Stan

Thanks, that's the kind of information I needed - a technique that makes things work. I hate working/cleaning on a leaning bike and the HVT001 should save
about a foot of lateral space in my garage.
BTW - I am really "lusting" for your silver/black Tourer. Think I'll try to find one. |

able to. I've got a couple of relatives drooling over it right now, but I don't think either has the money to buy it before next spring.

I've had a Rivco centerstand on my Shadow ACE Tourer for a couple of years now. Using it is a bit cumbersome,
though, but it's worth it, especially when cleaning or working on the bike.
Definitely worth it. Greg

bamaTrider?? If that means AL, I'm not that far away (BTR). What's with the "First Officer" tag - like Part 121 SIC?

Clyde, all that "First Officer" is, is just a nice way of calling me a bonified blabbermouth. The more posts that you make, and the more you can make
them believe that you know what you're talking about, the higher the ranking.
I live about 25 miles west of Huntsville, AL in Limestone County. I am going to sell my T soon. Just waiting to get an answer from a relative that I gave 1st option on it. Details are here; http://hondashadowacetourer.yuku.com/topic/7538 Stan

What's your status on selling the center stand? Now that Spring is here, I'm interested intaking it off your hands - at the right price. |
