Took a ride late yesterday to check performance of my repaired stator / regulator connection. I was trying turn signals and brights then tried the horn. It
beeped once, very weakly, then quit. I thought it was just low power but when I got home I hooked up my new tester to check continuity and the tester indicated
a short. I guess I'll just start following wiring to see if there is a wear spot, cut or break in the line, right?
Anyone else had problems with their horn shorting out?

No problems.
Just remember the circuitry for the horn has the ground switched at the horn button, not the positive. The positive is continuously on. You may just have a dead horn in which case it's perfect time for a nice upgrade to a Stebel!

I upgraded horns a couple of years ago while the OEM unit was still functioning. I ntried hooking up the OEM unit and it didn't work either. My guess is that I have a "real" short in the line. I'm tracing the path visually and on the schematic. What a pain!!!! Mike
