Custom World International Light Bar |
Lead | ||
|
I installed this CWI lilght bar purchased from Cruiser Customizing for $189 Free shipping. I assembled and mounted it on the lower windshield brackets, then
turned it over to my Honda mechanic to wire. We took power from the back of the fuse block - installed a 10 amp in line spade fuse - and finished it off with a
solid state toggle switch mounted in the left plastic neck cover. No visible wires - no switch on the handlebars - and I can control when I want the lights on.
It took some work to get them aligned but with a couple extra homemade washers and some patience I have them level with the low beam - one spots down the left
side of the road - the other takes care of the right shoulder. Makes night driving much more illuminated and makes me more visible during the day when going
long distance. The bright chrome and nice shape of the lights compliments my T to a tee.

Looks right at home on there. I pretty much did the same on wiring except that I ran a fused wire directly off the battery and fed it through a relay just
after the switch.

Nice setup Greg. I think spots on the front of our bikes really add to the looks. Bob

Those spots look like bug pits from riding a high speeds. LOL! Yes that is a great looking bike. And the light bar adds to the look. Mine did not come with the
light bar. It just has the big oversized headlight. Yours does look really good.

Um, not to be a butthead or anything, but shouldn't this be listed under "Electrical and Lighting"? Nice bike, though.

Didn't the lightbar come with special wedge shaped washers to align them?

Good question alans 98T. Yes the lightbar does come with special ramped washers for adjustment but since the bar is installed on somewhat of a slope on the
windshield, the light mounting surface is angled upward more than the washers can correct. I installed them per the instructions one on the top - one on the
bottom and thought I had em adjusted pretty good until I drove out to our local camp ground. When I pulled in I noticed the lights were perfectly angled for
raccoon hunting in the trees. I made one additional ramped washer similar to what came with and was able to get the lights down even with the low beam and
doing the job they're intended to do. After looking things over I'm wondering if you put both washers on top that you might get more adjustment?

Good looking install , I really like the look of the spotlights on the T . I really like the custom pinstriping on the front fender , are there pics here
somewhere of the stripes ? I really would like to see the complete job in detail , what you can see looks great . It also looks like you now have a good excuse
to shop for a few more chrome visors to match the rest of them . I love shopping for chrome
.

Thanks Triderhouston for the kind words. I'll take a couple closeups and post them in the members bike pictures area. I recall the previous owner told me
that the bike had been ridden to Sturgis and someone there free handed the pin striping on the front fender, on the gas tank, and on top of both saddle bag
covers. He signed his work and then just above the tail light wrote the words "On Prozac" since the original owner was a woman.
